Whitewater has won three major contracts to supply specialist water purification systems to some of the main Northern Ireland hospitals.

The company are already providing pure and ultrapure water for the medical sector to most of the regional hospitals in Ireland.

The three new contracts have been awarded to supply systems for the Endoscopy and Dialysis units at the brand new Erne Hospital in Enniskillen, a thermal disinfection unit for the Endoscopy at Altnagelvin Hospital, Co Derry and another Endoscopy reverse osmosis system for the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast.

All the water purification systems use a thermal disinfection system which was pioneered by Whitewater and which has now become the new industry standard as the most reliably consistent method of disinfection.

Tim Quinn, director at Whitewater spoke about the new contracts. “The contract awards recognise our long experience within Ireland in this specialist sector and the technical support of our highly experienced team of service engineers who maintain our hospital installations.”

“Tenders are increasingly specifying a thermal disinfection system because of the high levels of reliability of disinfection and quality of pure and ultrapure water. Where water is used for dialysis systems and to assist the disinfection of sensitive patient instruments and scopes, the quality of water for patient care is paramount. Our systems have shown that they can consistently perform in this very critical of medical environments.”
